Our weekly Story Writing Clubs bring imagination front and centre! These small-group workshops (up to 6 per group) are suitable for Prep to Year 10, and have been designed to allow each young writer the time, space, and attention to develop their skills, build their confidence, and learn to become better writers by helping each other.

Story Writing Clubs fit loosely into three main groups:
Story Imagineers is really about nurturing those boundless imaginations, and building the confidence to shape ideas into stories with basic story structure, character development, and writing techniques.
Story Creators. Here we start to build on those foundations: learning more complex structures, adding more descriptive elements, and exploring character and setting in a variety of ways.
Story Crafters is where we can really delve deep into story: playing with structure, voice, and style, and finding the best way to develop each idea to its full potential. Dedicated writers can even write a novella that we can help you publish!
Every week we present a new creative writing topic, and brainstorm how to approach it together. This is followed by focussed writing time, as well as a few minutes to workshop with the group. Each finished piece of writing is read and corrected by the Workshop Leader, with suggestions for improvement.
Writers can move between Story Writing Club groups at any time, as they feel comfortable, and at the suggestion of their Workshop Leader.
We provide a number of publishing opportunities throughout the year, in print and online, including our annual Writ-Bits anthology: a professionally bound and designed book! What's your literary dream?
