The Angry Teacup

By James, Year 3

I had one cup of tea, peppermint flavour.

‘That cup of tea was delicious. Can I have another cup of tea?’ I asked.
'No!' shouted my mum.
So I went to put on my thermal underwear, but then I got attacked by a cup of tea!
‘Aaaarrrggghh!’ I screamed. ‘I just wanted to put on my thermal underwear and go to bed!’ I staggered away.
The cup of tea said, ‘I’ll let you go on one condition: you let me eat you first.’
‘No way!’ I shouted.
‘Fine then,’ the cup of tea said. ‘I’ll just eat you.’

The Day the Blue Disappeared

By Olivia, Year 1
One day I was sleeping and I woke up in the morning. Normally my bed is blue and now it was grey. I had no idea what happened. I thought my eyes were lying.

On the news it said somebody stole every bit of blue … I was very scared.

Luckily I had a crazy dream the night before that I sucked up all of the blue into a giant vacuum because it all looked so yummy I wanted to keep it all for myself.

The next night, I had another crazy dream that I realised I did the wrong thing and put all the blue back.

When I woke up everything was ok.

Once there was a really sad lady named Lisa

By Jerry Yu, Year 4

Once there was a really sad lady named Lisa. During the school holidays she wanted to go to the zoo but the zoo was closed. Then she had a great idea. She could go to the sea to see a hammer head shark. Lisa really wanted to see a hammer head shark that was free because it would have more space to swim in.

Lisa went to the train station because she lived really far from the beach. It took three hours to get to the beach so she brought some food and some water to drink.

On the train Lisa saw a poster for a movie about an atomic bomb, and the cinemas were super close to the beach. When Lisa got there, she went to the cinema, bought some chicken flavoured popcorn to eat, and then bought a ticket.

She sat down quietly to watch the movie. The movie was about a giant atomic bomb and it was about to explode……

After the movie, Lisa hadn’t finished eating the popcorn so she put it in her bag because she didn’t want to waste a perfect bag of popcorn. When she got to the beach she started to search for a hammer head shark. After an hour she finally found one, but it was a bit boring because all the hammer head sharks did was eat, eat, eat, and sleep.

After a long, long, time, Lisa went home. She had a brilliant time watching the movie but it was a bit boring watching the hammer head shark.

By Chloe, Year 2

Once upon a time in a dark gloomy cave, there lived a big scary monster. He had red glowing eyes and purple spikes on his back.

One evening, the monster felt hungry. His tummy was rumbling and his mouth was watering, so he decided to ask his mum for something to eat. The problem was, his mum was at work! He tried to yell to his mum, but it was no use. The monster had to think of a way to stop his tummy rumbling and his mouth watering! The monster thought and thought, but the more he thought the hungrier he felt! The monster thought all evening until he thought of an idea.

He thought his idea was brilliant! In fact he started his project straight away. He wouldn't go to the shops because he was too lazy. He would build a food machine. He couldn't wait till he finished his machine that would give him anything he wanted.

First he had to draw a plan of what it would look like. After that he got some screws, nails and a hammer and started building. It took hours until it was finished. At last the machine was finished and the monster could eat. He was very, very happy.

The Jellybean Factory

By Raynee, Year 2

Once upon a time there was a sleepy zoo keeper. His eyes were blue, he was bald and handsome. His name was Kieron. He was very sleepy because he was at a 30th anniversary party and he was bored. He just stood in the corner eating chips to stay awake.

After the party he went to bed. Even though the party had been boring, he was very sad that the party was over because it meant no more chips! So he went to sleep at 9pm.

In the middle of the night, Kieron started sleepwalking. Soon he was at the Jelly Bean Factory! When he woke up, he realised he was not in his bed. He said to himself in his head, ‘How can I be in a Jelly Bean Factory?’ He thought a little bit. ‘Maybe I was sleep walking?’

Suddenly, he heard a sound. It sounded like tick-tock-tick-tock-tick-tock. Kieron tried to find where the sound was coming from. He went upstairs and saw an object that was as big as a sausage dog. It was black and hard, but empty inside. Kieron said, ‘It’s a ticking time bomb!!!!!!’

The time on the ticking time bomb was two hours and one second. Kieron spent nearly two hours trying to find an exit. He went upstairs and downstairs and up and down again. The time was nearly up. Finally he found the exit and ran through it, just as the factory exploded! Jellybeans were flying everywhere.

Kieron collected some jellybeans and went home to the zoo.
